I lied.

July 9th, 2006

So… when I said that you shouldn’t be jealous of us in my last post, I lied. You should be jealous. So, so jealous. 😉 Destin, Florida was BEAUTIFUL!! The Gulf of Mexico… is… one of my new favorite places on God’s green earth. Without. A. Doubt. And, being only four hours from New Orleans, we’re sure to go again. As a matter of fact, it turns out my cousin Kim lives not far from there!! How crazy is that?? She said next time we visit, we can spend the night, since we missed her this time. :)

But, there’s not much that can be said about yesterday, pictures will work much better.

This year, I’ve accomplished three items on my list of “Things to do before I die.” I went to the Grand Canyon in March, I’m living in New Orleans right now, and yesterday, I saw the Gulf of Mexico. Here’s me celebrating our arrival:

Me, Yay!

Clear water, a beautiful teal ocean, clean, soft white sand, waves that you can play in but won’t kill you… what’s not to love??

Beach Chair
Us + Beach = Love

We’ll put more pictures in our “coming soon” gallery. We decided not to spend the night there because all of the hotels, even the dirty little motels, were well over a hundred dollars a night! (Way beyond the means of a relief worker whose modest wage is NOTHING.) 😉 So we did a one day trip, and got back into NOLA at one AM. No sooner did we hit New Orleans East, though, did we the smell of mold roll into our car.
C’est la vie.

There is no place quite like the gulf coast. I’m glad you guys had such an amazing time – I wish I could take a four hour drive to the gulf. Then again, I can take a half hour drive to Breathe, where we will be having some amazing speakers and some great, book-burnin’, Jesus-lovin’ fellowship……and where you guys will certainly be missed. By the way speaking of speaker whom we all love and adore, check out this week’s sermon whenever they get it posted – Julia Pickerill brought it. I’m not sure what “it” is, but whatever “it” is, “it” was most certainly brought. :-) Much love and many blessings from “the heart of it all.”

It would be like a dream to have all my favorite people (which includes you of course!) there for one big ‘ol chill at the beach vacation.

If you ever have the means, I highly highly recommend it!

Hey, I’m so jealous. However, you should be jealous of me. I had a two hour phone conversation with Liz. I gave her your phone number. Um… you might want to know that she’s moving to Mexico City, Mexico. For like two years. The place she has been doing missionary work with offered her a job. So, she is going to moving there. Right now she is in Orlando, FL. though. That’s only like nine hours from you guys. She’ll be there for 3 weeks then she’s going back to Mexico for 6 weeks. Then she’ll be back in Orlando again for a short period of time and then she’ll be moving to Mexico for 2 years. She’s really excited. Let me know if you want her number or anything. I have one more set of things to get and then I’ll be sending your care package out to you guys. 4340 is the number of the church right? Anyway, really jealous of the beach pictures. I’ve briefly entertained the idea of taking a week off and coming down there with you guys, but I can’t see that happening. Especially since I’m going to be an aunt again in less than a month. Anyway, I’ll quit taking up space now. Peace.

Mmmmmm…….I could go for some fun and fellowship with good friends on the beach. As a matter of fact, at last night’s Breathe meeting, I had the distinct pleasure to spend a few minutes with our good friend, Chris Oatley. How can you not love that guy?!? It was cool, too – we were talking about how blessed we had been in our roommate situations, and he mentioned how living with Mike, Jimmy and myself had really blessed him and helped prepare him to be a good housemate in marriage. Hopefully one day I will be able to say the same about him, Manoj, et. all. Any way, if you guys have not seen Pirates II yet, it’s good……not as good as the first and a bit long but quite enjoyable. We got a group together from kinship to see it and grab some dinner – I think about a dozen of us showed up. Our group was still two short (wink, wink). Any way, hope all is well and that God is doing amazing things in your lives and ministries.

Beth, Liz actually called me after she talked to you! I talked to her from the beach while we were both in Florida!! :)

Thanks for passing my phone number on to her!!

    4340 is the right number.

Is there a name for the almost-baby yet??!! :)

Well, I’m all for a beach vacation :) I get paid vacation time after May 2007. . .just in time for summer. . .

    *starts plotting*

Also, I am using the beach umbrella pic as my desktop background. Cause it’s so purty!

They’re thinking Emmalyn (sounds emma lynn) Louise. The first name is for sure… not completely decided on the middle name yet. She’s due August 7th. I’m glad Liz called you. I figured it was okay to pass your number on to her. Man, it sounds like you guys are really having a cool time. I’m going stir crazy here. I’m not sleeping very well. I got 3 hours of sleep last night. Suck. Oh, and Dane took a few steps the other day. That’s about all the news here. Talk to you later.
